Technical & Account
Bad WiFi or disconnections, especially on Android?
Many Android manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus, Samsung, and others) have aggressive battery saving modes that can kill background connections. This affects all online games, not just Fleet Battle.
Have a look at this great resource for solutions and tips:

If problems persist, try restarting your device and your WiFi router.
The game is stuck at the loading screen (plotting course / scrubbing the deck / refill supplies)?
This seems to happen rather randomly. In most cases, a device restart will fix the problem. Some devices have problems keeping the internet connection open for newly installed apps. A router restart might also help.
Is the game cross-platform compatible?
Yes! Fleet Battle can be played cross-platform between Android and iOS in most game modes. The only exception is Bluetooth, which is Android-only. Apple only supports Bluetooth LE (low energy), which causes too much lag for real-time gameplay.
We want to play locally via WiFi. Why doesn't it work?
Make sure to restart the game on both devices before trying to create or join a game. Also check that your WiFi network isn't using strict firewall settings that could block the connection.
Bluetooth doesn't work. What can I do?
Bluetooth is available on Android only. Here's a trick that helps in most cases:
- Disable Bluetooth on both devices
- Close the game completely
- Restart the game
- Create a game via Bluetooth
- A popup will ask you to activate Bluetooth and pair the devices — confirm both
- Play!
The game crashes. Can you help?
Yes, in most cases we can. Please contact us and describe the problem in as much detail as possible.
The best way to reach us is the contact button in the game (Options, page 2). If that's not possible, email us at support[at]smuttlewerk.de or use the contact form on the Fleet Battle page.
I have a new device. Can I transfer my account?
Yes — if you registered your account with Email or Google Play / Game Center, simply log in on your new device.
If you played anonymously, contact us and include your exact player name. We'll try to locate your account manually. A unique name makes this much easier.
How do I delete my account?
There are three ways:
- In the game: go to Options, page 2, and tap "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page. Then uninstall the game.
- Email us at support[at]smuttlewerk.de. Please include your in-game username and/or the email address attached to your account.
- Use the contact form on the Fleet Battle page. Make sure to include your in-game username and/or email address.
Gameplay Basics
Where can I find help understanding the game?
Tap the menu button (leftmost button on the main screen) and look for the instructions. You'll find explanations for all game systems there.
If you can't find what you need, contact us — we're happy to help. The contact button is in Options, page 2. If that's not available, email us at support[at]smuttlewerk.de.
What are blueprints for?
Blueprints are collected to unlock new ships. Unlocked ships change only the appearance of your fleet — they give no gameplay advantage. There is no "pay to win" of any kind in Fleet Battle.
How do unlocked ships earn colors and looks?
Unlocked ships earn experience points when you use them in matches. For each level gained, you get a new color scheme or look (for example, camouflage patterns).
To change a ship's color, tap the "change" button with the brush icon. Note: if you have 2D game mode enabled in the options, ship colors won't be visible.
I don't like the ship colors. Can I disable them?
Yes. Go to Options and enable "Force Blueprint Look" to use the default appearance for all ships.
Why can't I choose different rules in Quick Match?
Allowing more rule combinations would split the player base. Since Fleet Battle doesn't use bots for matchmaking, splitting the player base means longer wait times for everyone.
If you want to play with different rules, head to "Play with Friends" — you'll find players there who are happy to play with custom rules. You can also set up Elimination Tournaments with any fleet type and shot rule you like.
Is there a way to cheat by seeing my opponent's fleet?
No. Fleet Battle uses a relay-based network architecture, which means ship positions are never transmitted to the other player's device. Your fleet placement is safe.
We also have a feature called Radio Silence in Quick Match that hides player names and blocks chat at the start of a match, specifically to prevent players from recognizing opponents and using past knowledge against them.
People are rude in chat. Can I report or disable it?
Yes. In the chat window, you'll see a "report insults" button and a "disable chat" button.
You can also go to Options to disable chat entirely, limit it to pre-defined phrases only, or lock the chat with a password — useful if younger players use the game.
Can I turn off voice-overs, music, or sound?
Yes, all separately in the Options. You can also download additional sound packs there. Each language has its own robot voice option too.
What can I buy in the game?
Fleet Battle offers purely cosmetic purchases and convenience items — nothing that gives a competitive advantage. Available purchases include blueprint packs (to unlock ship appearances faster), gold packs (for nameplate cosmetics like emblems, frames, and wings), a "Remove Ads" option, and bundle packs that combine these.
During Salvo Events, you can also buy extra event tickets to play more matches.
Competitive & Progression
How does the honor and fairness system work?
The honor system exists in Quick Match to deal with players who leave matches when they think they're losing.
Players who regularly leave matches will become dishonorable and eventually lose access to post-match medals, win streaks, and chat. The most dishonorable players are permanently banned from leaderboards and from playing against players with an honor status of dishonorable or better.
Important: if you leave during the fleet setup phase, the match still counts as unfinished. Once you're matched with a player, you need to play the match or your honor status will suffer. If you want to forfeit, use the white flag — it counts as a loss but does not affect your honor.
If you received a dishonorable status due to connection problems, contact us and we'll help.
What are Daily Battles?
Daily Battles are a progression system where you earn historical battleships by playing matches consistently.
Every match you play (in any game mode) counts as progress. Play enough matches each day to earn a shield. Collect enough shields and you unlock a historical battleship — famous warships like the Bismarck, Yamato, USS New Jersey, and many more. There are 22 historical battleships to collect in total.
You can also earn bonus shields by watching a rewarded video each day.
What is the Salvo Event?
The Salvo Event is a competitive event that runs every Tuesday through Thursday. It uses a special version of the Salvo shot rule with 3 fixed shots per turn.
You get free tickets each day to participate. Extra tickets can be earned by watching rewarded videos or purchased in the shop. Players are placed into groups of 50 and ranked by ELO rating. At the end of each weekly event, you earn Event Coins based on your rank, which you can spend in the cosmetic shop on hitmarkers, portrait effects, and plate effects.
There's also a seasonal leaderboard that tracks your ELO across a full quarter (3 months), with its own rewards and a permanent Hall of Champions for season winners.
You need to reach the rank of Petty Officer First Class to participate.
How do the Championships and leaderboards work?
Fleet Battle has separate leaderboard systems for Quick Match, Singleplayer, and the Salvo Event.
In Quick Match and Singleplayer, weekly leaderboards track your best match scores. After completing enough rated matches to qualify, you're ranked against other players. The top players each week earn gold and a nameplate medal. Every four weeks, weekly results feed into a Championship, with the top player entering the Hall of Fame.
Salvo Event leaderboards work differently — they use an ELO rating system within groups of 50 players (see the Salvo Event question above).
What are Elimination Tournaments?
Elimination Tournaments are bracket-style competitions for 4 or 8 players, available through the "Play with Friends" mode.
You can join public tournaments with randomized rules or create your own with custom fleet types and shot rules. Matches are played in real time, and winners advance through the bracket until the final. Tournament wins are tracked on dedicated leaderboards, and winners earn nameplate medals.
How is my score calculated?
Your match score is based on several factors: the number of hits you land, a turn bonus that rewards finishing the match efficiently, and bonus points from any medals you earn during the match.
If you lose, a defeat modifier reduces your score based on how decisively you lost. In Singleplayer, your chosen difficulty also affects the score (harder difficulty = higher score).
Your total accumulated score across all matches determines your rank, which unlocks rewards like blueprints and gold as you progress through the naval ranks — all the way up to Admiral of the Navy.
